Introduction

Floor is Lava (“the App”) is developed by Juan Carlos Bivia Mendoza. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.

Information We Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

The App does not use any analytics services, advertising SDKs, tracking frameworks, or third-party data collection tools.

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following information only on your device using standard iOS storage (UserDefaults):

  • Game preferences: sound settings, control mode (touch/gyroscope), left-handed mode, selected language
  • Game statistics: high score, games played, highest level reached
  • Display name: the nickname you choose for your in-game profile

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party. You can delete this data at any time by uninstalling the App.

Apple Game Center

The App integrates with Apple Game Center for the following features:

  • Leaderboards: Your game scores are submitted to Game Center leaderboards so you can compare with other players globally.
  • Multiplayer: Game Center matchmaking is used to connect players for online multiplayer games.
  • Friends: You can view and play with your Game Center friends.

Game Center is operated by Apple Inc. and is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your Apple ID, Game Center account details, or any data managed by Apple.

Floor is Lava (“the App”) is developed by Juan Carlos Bivia Mendoza. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information. The App is designed with a privacy-first approach — all game data is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded to external servers owned by us.

Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information to our own servers. We do not have servers, databases, or analytics systems that receive your data. All game progress, settings, and preferences are stored exclusively on your device using local storage (UserDefaults).

Apple Game Center

The App integrates with Apple Game Center for multiplayer matchmaking, leaderboards, and friend lists. Game Center data (display name, avatar, scores, rankings) is managed entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your Apple ID, Game Center account details, or any data managed by Apple beyond what is displayed within the App.

Multiplayer & Voice Messages

The App offers real-time multiplayer functionality through Apple Game Center (GameKit). During multiplayer matches:

  • Game data (player positions, game state, events) is exchanged directly between players through Apple’s peer-to-peer GameKit infrastructure. This data is not routed through our servers.
  • The App includes an optional push-to-talk voice message feature. When you hold the walkie-talkie button, your device records a short audio clip (up to 5 seconds) which is sent directly to other players in your match through Apple’s GameKit network. Voice audio is never stored permanently — it exists only in temporary memory during playback and is discarded immediately after. We do not have access to, store, or process any voice data. Players can mute incoming voice messages at any time.

Microphone

The App requests microphone access solely for the walkie-talkie voice message feature during multiplayer games. Microphone access is optional — the App functions fully without it. Audio is recorded only while you actively hold the push-to-talk button, compressed locally on your device, sent directly to match participants, and discarded after playback. No audio is ever stored, uploaded, or transmitted to our servers.

Device Motion (Gyroscope)

The App uses your device’s motion sensors (gyroscope/accelerometer) solely to control your character’s movement in the game. Motion data is processed locally in real-time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.

Local Settings & Preferences

The App stores your game settings and preferences locally on your device, including: control preferences, audio settings, sensitivity, nickname, and game statistics. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.

Country Flag

The App allows you to optionally select a country flag to display on your profile and in leaderboards. Your country selection is encoded alongside your score when submitted to Apple Game Center leaderboards, making it visible to all players in the ranking. This information is limited to a two-letter country code and is stored within Apple’s Game Center infrastructure — we do not operate any separate servers or databases for this data. If you do not select a country, a neutral flag is shown. You can change or remove your country selection at any time from your profile.

Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since the App does not collect any personal data from any user, it is safe for users of all ages.

Third-Party Services

The App does not use any third-party services, SDKs, or frameworks that collect user data. The only external service used is Apple Game Center, which is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user information with third parties, because we do not collect any user information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
